Recent studies have revealed that companies are moving towards a more mature approach to social media. It'sone thing to link away to your social profiles and feeds, but unless you have a sound strategy for this integration you can shoot yourself in the foot.

PRESSfeed conducted a study of the Fortune 100 and INC 500 company websites  to see how many of them are integrating their social content with their corporate content. There is in fact a significant gap between the number of companies active in social media and those integrating that content.with their corporate websites and online newsrooms.

Key Findings:

Almost half of the Fortune 100 (44%) and more than two-thirds (68%) of the INC 500 companies that are active in social media are not even connecting to their social content. Quotes

"Companies both large and small are adopting the use of social media to enhance their marketing and public relations and reach out to people  online," said Sally Falkow, APR, President of PRESSfeed, who conducted the study.  "However there is more to this than meets the eye.  You do have to have your content in many places on the social web, but you also have to close the loop and aggregate that conversation in your own newroom and make it easy for people who visit your site and like your content to share it with others."
